Little Bit Bit: Week 34

12 Jul

How far along? 34 Weeks, 2 Days
Total weight gain: 12.5 pounds!!!!!!!! I gained 3.5 pounds the last two weeks. If I said my doctor did a happy dance, I’d only be slightly exaggerating.
Maternity clothes? Yeppers. Lurve me some maxi dresses!
Stretch marks? No new ones
Sleep: Horrible. When I’m not up to pee, or tossing and turning trying to get comfortable, I’m up with Lakyn. Why is my 2.5 year old’s sleep cycle mimicking that of a newborn’s all of a sudden? So frustrating!
Best moment this week: Getting all the painting in the nursery done. D-O-N-E!
Miss Anything? Sleep, walking without waddling, consuming Dr. Pepper without thinking twice about it, sitting comfortably, especially in the car.
Movement: She’s killing me! I don’t remember Lakyn ever trying to stretch her way out of my stomach. I swear Bit Bit’s spread eagle in there. Lots of pressure. It’s really painful sometimes. And I don’t care what anybody says, a lot of pressure DOES hurt.
Food cravings: Soda and popsicles!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not one to crave meat, but that’s nothing new.
Labor Signs: No. I honestly can’t tell whether I’m having Braxton Hicks or not. My stomach is always incredibly tight because BB’s constantly pressing. I’m not kidding. And some of you might laugh. Go ahead, but I never had a contraction with Lakyn until I was induced, so I really have no idea what Braxton Hicks contractions feel like. Laugh it up!
Symptoms: Lower back pain, exhaustion, waddling, and the round ligament pain is getting out of hand.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Becoming more moody because I’m so uncomfortable
Looking forward to: Honestly, having this baby so I can get back to feeling like me.
Can you tell I’ve been feeling a little rough this week? It’s like I ran straight into a brick wall. BAM! I don’t remember ever getting to that point with Lakyn. I was one of those annoying women that loved every single minute of being pregnant. I was never uncomfortable. Sure I felt heavy and huge, but nothing like I’m feeling right now. Maybe it’s because this is my second child. Maybe it’s because I’m pregnant in the hottest part of the year, as opposed to the coldest part of the year with Lakyn. Maybe it’s because I’m carrying Bit Bit lower than I ever carried Lakyn (at least in Brandon’s and my opinion). Who knows, all I know is that I finally understand why some women are just so READY to have their baby so they can have their body back. I get it now.

    1. I feel like I have been waiting forever for a bit bit post…so yay!!! :)
    2. You are SO beautiful! You have the cutest baby bump ever!!!
    3. Good job on the weight gain!
    4. Sorry about Lakyn’s sleeping. Its so weird when they go through these stages. Not to mention exhausting
    5. I am so surprised to hear you not enjoying this pregnancy bc I know how much you loved it w Lakyn. But take heart I think the heat is playing a big role…I am on a whole new level of cranky this pregnancy bc of this heat. I under estamated how hard it would be to be bigly preggo over the summer months
    6. Don’t feel bad about the contractions the exact same thing happened to me with Pierce. Dan was actually the one who felt my tummy and realized it was contractions! LOL!!! I bet some of them are braxton hicks and they will get stronger as time goes along. Hoping she comes on her own for you!
    7. Sorry this is so long. Can’t wait to see you!

    Hi Afton,

Cute blog! I just started reading your post today. My husband Matthew directed me to your blog. He’s friends with Brandon (they meet up sometimes at Scooters during the work day). I just thought I’d introduce myself so I don’t seem like a lurker on your blog.

Your daughter is adorable and congratulations on the future addition to your family! We just had our first. A little boy, Liam, born in April.

Anyway, I remember Matthew trying to plan dinner last fall but it never worked out. Maybe we can plan a dinner in the future.

    Christine :)

    Ps- I’m also a K-State fan. I graduated in ’04 from K-State.

Hi Christine! Welcome to my blog. It’s not much, but it’s mine and I love it!

So glad to finally “meet” you! Congrats on your little boy, Liam! April babies are the best (my birthday is the 16th)! He’s somewhere around 3 months old, right? That’s one of my favorite stages! I bet you’re having so much fun with him!

I do recall something about dinner plans with you all and us not being able to make them work. Let’s see if we can fix that in the near future! I’d love to get to meet you in person and see that precious little babe of yours!

Also, something about you being a K-State fan tells me that we’re going to get along just great! :)
